The Danish Superliga (, ) is a professional association football league in Denmark and the highest level of the Danish football league system. The league is currently contested by 12 teams each year, with 2 teams relegated. It is the current Danish football championship tournament, and administered by the Divisionsforeningen. History Founded in 1991, the Danish Superliga replaced the Danish 1st Division as the highest league of football in Denmark. From the start in 1991, 10 teams were participating. The opening Superliga season was played during the spring of 1991, with the ten teams playing each other twice for the championship title. From the summer of 1991, the tournament structure would stretch over two calendar years. The 10 teams would play each other twice in the first half of the tournament. Danish Football Champions
The Danish football champions are the winners of the highest league of football in Denmark. The title has been contested since 1913, in a varying form of competitions. Since 1991, the winners have been found through the Danish Superliga championship. The Danish football championship is governed by the Divisionsforeningen. The early Danish football championships were decided in a single game, and the competition was not nationwide until its structure was altered before the 1927–28 season. Until the 1950s, the winners' list included teams exclusively from the Copenhagen area. Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB) thus won 12 of its shared record 15 Danish championships before the 1954–55 season, when Køge Boldklub became the first non-Copenhagen team to be crowned Danish football champions. Danish Football League System
The Danish football league system, also known as the football league pyramid, refers to the hierarchically interconnected league structure for association football in Denmark, in which all divisions are bound together by the principle of promotion and relegation. Within men's association football, the top two professional levels contain one division each. Below this, the semi-professional and amateur levels have progressively more parallel divisions, which each cover progressively smaller geographic areas. The top four tiers are classed as nationwide, while the fifth tier and below are classed provincial leagues. Teams that finish at the top of their division at the end of each season can rise higher in the pyramid, while those that finish at the bottom find themselves sinking further down. 2024–25 Danish Superliga
The 2024–25 Danish Superliga (officially the 3F Superliga for sponsorship purposes) was the 35th season of the Danish Superliga. Midtjylland entered the season as the defending champions, having secured the 2023–24 title on the final day. However, Midtjylland were unable to defend their title as they finished the season in second place, one point behind champions Copenhagen. The schedule for the first seven matchdays was released on 7 June 2024, with the opening fixture set for 19 July between AGF and Midtjylland. Following the 17th round of fixtures, between 2 December and 14 February, the league entered a winter break in which no league fixtures were played. Foreningen af Divisionsklubber i Danmark (), commonly referred to as Divisionsforeningen or shortened to DF (or FDD), is a professionally administered, non-profit trade, special interest and employers' organization for men's professional association football in Denmark and the elite clubs (or their companies) that partake in the top four Danish leagues, the Superliga, 1st Division, 2nd Division and 3rd Division, representing their interests, especially forwards the Danish Football Association (DBU), the Danish Football Players' Association and the local municipalities. 2001–02 Danish Superliga
The 2001–02 Danish Superliga season was the 12th season of the Danish Superliga league championship, governed by the Danish Football Association. It took place from the first match on July 21, 2001, to final match on May 16, 2002. The Danish champions qualified for the second UEFA Champions League 2002–03 qualification round, while the second and third placed teams qualified for the first qualification round of the UEFA Cup 2002–03. The fourth placed team qualified for the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2002, while the two lowest placed teams of the tournament was directly relegated to the Danish 1st Division. Alka Forsikring, formally Insurance Joint Stock Alka, is a Danish insurance company that was established in 1944. Alka provides accident and life insurance. It is owned by trade unions and associated organisations. Alka was created by the merger of Workers' Life Insurance, founded in 1903 and Danish Cooperative Assurance, founded in 1929, both working with the Danish labor movement. Faxe Kondi is a Danish soft drink produced by Royal Unibrew through Faxe Bryggeri since 1971. Originally it was sold in beer bottles, as Faxe Bryggeri was primarily a beer brewing company. It is marketed as a sports drink. There is also a light-version, Faxe Kondi Zero Calories, and three energy drinks, Faxe Kondi Booster (sold only in Denmark until 2019; it has also been seen in markets in Finland since), Faxe Kondi Booster Blue and Faxe Kondi Booster Red.
