Supergirl (2026 Film)
''Supergirl'' is an upcoming American superhero film based on DC Comics featuring Supergirl (Kara Zor-El), the eponymous character. Produced by DC Studios and to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it will be the second film in the DC Universe (franchise), DC Universe (DCU). The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, written by Ana Nogueira, and stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El (DC Universe), Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. It follows Supergirl as she travels across the galaxy on a murderous quest for revenge. A film featuring Supergirl entered development as part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) franchise in August 2018, and the character was introduced in the film ''The Flash (film), The Flash'' (2023) portrayed by Sasha Calle. Craig Gillespie (born 1 September 1967) is an Australian-American film director, film, television director, television, music video director, music video, and commercial director. He is best known for directing the films ''Lars and the Real Girl'' (2007), ''Fright Night (2011 film), Fright Night'' (2011), ''I, Tonya'' (2017), and ''Cruella (film), Cruella'' (2021). The DC Universe (DCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe based on characters from DC Comics publications. Zor-El is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. A Kryptonian, he is the younger brother of Jor-El,'' Action Comics #1075 (2024)'' husband of Alura, father of Supergirl, and paternal uncle of Superman.
