Superband World Tour
''SuperBand'' () is a spin-off of '' Project SuperStar'', a popular singing talent-search competition in Singapore. Contestants are bands of 2 to 6 people. To mark the opening of the first season, a special SuperBand Big Jam where all the 18 bands made their debut at Suntec City's Fountain of Wealth, and was aired as a special at 8:45pm on April 9, 2006. After which, the show was broadcast at 7:30pm on Monday starting from April 10, 2006 for the first 4 episodes of Season 1. Subsequent episodes were aired at 8:00pm. The results show were aired 'live' at 11:30pm on MediaCorp Channel U. For Season 2, all shows were on Monday at 8:00pm from June 16, 2008 with the results show delayed at 11:30pm after an earlier recording at about 10:00pm. An exception was on August 18, 2008, when the main show was aired at 7:00pm due to the telecast of the National Day Rally's English speech at 8:00pm. Former National Stadium, Singapore
The former Singapore National Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium in Kallang, which opened in July 1973 and closed on 30 June 2007. The stadium was demolished from 2010 to 2011 for the development of the Singapore Sports Hub, which houses its successor. During its closure from 2007 to 2014, the National Day Parade (NDP) and sports events were held at the Marina Bay Floating Platform and Jalan Besar Stadium. The stadium was prominently the home of Singapore FA, a club side, and the Singapore national team. It also hosted the Singapore Cup finals annually, the first in 1996, and the second leg of the 2004 AFF Championship finals. Mi Lu Bing (literally "lost soldiers") was a Singapore-based rock band who rose to fame after winning the inaugural season of the local band competition SuperBand. The band consists of three members, Chan WeiQi, Nicodemus Lee (Nic) and Samuel Wong (Sam). The Singapore Indoor Stadium, known exonymously as the Indoor Stadium, is an indoor arena located in Kallang, Singapore. The National Day Rally ( ms, Rapat Umum Hari Kebangsaan; ; ta, தேசிய தின பேரணி) is an annual message delivered by the prime minister of Singapore to the entire nation, on the first or second Sunday after the National Day on 9 August. A yearly event since 1966, the prime minister uses the rally to address the nation on its key challenges, as well as to announce the country's major policy changes, the economy, future plans and achievements. Suntec City is a major mixed-use development located in Marina Centre, a subzone of the Downtown Core in Singapore, which combines a shopping mall, office buildings, and a Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, convention centre. Construction began on 18 January 1992 and was completed on 22 July 1997. Design Suntec City was designed by Tsao & McKown Architects with emphasis on Chinese ''feng shui''.
