Super Strong Style 16 is an annual professional wrestling single elimination tournament, single elimination List of Progress Wrestling tournaments, tournament produced by Progress Wrestling. First introduced in 2015, the tournament comprises four rounds and features sixteen professional wrestlers who compete in singles matches. Since its inception, the tournament has been notable for featuring various professional wrestlers, who have gone on to achieve huge mainstream success, competing for promotions such as WWE, All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The tournament is used to determine the #1 contender for the PROGRESS World Championship. Progress Wrestling (stylized as PROGRESS) is a British professional wrestling promotion that was established in 2011 by comedian Jim Smallman, events and comedy promoter Jon Briley, and later, actor Glen Robinson (professionally known as Glen Joseph). History Progress was conceived by Jim Smallman and Jon Briley in 2011, who were both massive wrestling fans. Smallman is a big fan of " strong style" wrestling, Japanese in particular, and Briley was Smallman's agent. In 2015, Progress appeared for five nights at Download Festival. Simon Musk (born 7 January 1985) is an English professional wrestler better known under his in-ring persona of masked Mexican luchador, El Ligero (or simply Ligero). He is most known for his time in WWE, on their NXT UK brand. Professional wrestling career Independent circuit (2002–2018) El Ligero has been a professional wrestler since February 2002. The tournament is used to showcase upstart rising wrestlers from the United Kingdom. The winner receives a championship match of their choosing at anytime and any place.
