Super Cycle
''Super Cycle'' is a 1986 racing video game developed and published by Epyx. Originally released for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum and Atari ST, it is a clone of Sega's 1985 arcade racing game ''Hang-On''. The Commodore 64 version was later re-released in 2023 as part of ''THEC64 Collection 3'' compilation cartridge for the Evercade by Blaze Entertainment. Gameplay ''Super Cycle'' is a racing game in which arcade style racing is featured. Reception David M. Wilson and Johnny L. Wilson reviewed the game for ''Computer Gaming World'', and called it a "pleasing translation of the coin-op motorcycle racing hit". Epyx, Inc. was a video game developer and video game publisher active in the late 1970s and 1980s. The company was founded in 1978 as Automated Simulations by Jim Connelley and Jon Freeman, publishing a series of tactical combat games. The Epyx brand was introduced when the company branched out to a series of more action-oriented titles. In 1983, as these types of games now represented the majority of their product line, the company was renamed to match. Epyx published a long series of games through the 1980s. Antic (magazine)
''Antic'' was a print magazine devoted to Atari 8-bit computers and later the Atari ST. It was named after the ANTIC chip in the 8-bit line which, in concert with CTIA or GTIA, generates the display. The magazine was published by Antic Publishing from April 1982 until June/July 1990.''Antic'' printed type-in programs (usually in Atari BASIC), reviews, and tutorials, among other articles. A video game clone is either a video game or a video game console very similar to, or heavily inspired by, a previous popular game or console. Clones are typically made to take financial advantage of the popularity of the cloned game or system, but clones may also result from earnest attempts to create homages or expand on game mechanics from the original game. ''Run'' (stylized as ''RUN'') was an American computer magazine published monthly by IDG Communications with its first issue debuting in January 1984. Bi-monthly publishing began in June/July 1990 (issue #78, volume 7 number 6), and went on until the magazine folded in November/December 1992 (issue #94, volume 9 number 6). In its heyday, ''Run''s monthly circulation was in the 200,000–300,000 range. ''Folio'', the trade journal of the magazine industry, rated it as the second fastest-growing U.S. magazine of 1985.
