SuperStar Search Slovakia Season 1
''SuperStar Search Slovakia'' () is a casting television show based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in Slovakia. It was broadcast by the national TV network STV in the late 2004 and early 2005. The first season premiered on October 29, 2004, and concluded on April 15, 2005. The main show was aired on Fridays, the accompanying ''SuperStar Search Slovakia Magazine'' was broadcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays, premiering on December 14, 2004. Judges and hosts Judges The show had four judges; singers and musicians Ladislav Lučenič and Pavol Habera, a music producer Lenka Slaná, and a radio personality Július Viršík. Lučenič served as the head-judge and had the main vote. The Calling is an American Rock music, rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1996 by lead singer and guitarist Alex Band and guitarist Aaron Kamin. Samuel Tomeček
Samuel Tomeček (born 22 May 1986 in Bratislava), also known as Samo Tomeček is a Slovak singer. He rose to popularity after competing in the finals of the first session SuperStar Search Slovakia in 2004 at the age of 19. After the show, Tomeček together with his band Free Inna Cage released their first album Young and Rude (Mladý a Drzý), produced by Ivan Tásler under the Sony BMG label. The album received a Gold Record. Tomeček followed up on his first album by three more albums: Like in Nirvana (Ako v nirváne) (2009), I don't sleep (Nespím) (2015) and ICONS (IKONY) (2017). Zuzana Smatanová (born 14 June 1984 Súľov-Hradná) is a Slovaks, Slovak pop-rock singer. She sings in Slovak language, Slovak and in English, writing her own lyrics and music.
