Suorva
Suorva () or Suorvadammen ("the Suorva Dam") is a small settlement situated at the southern parts of Akkajaure, in Stora Sjöfallet National Park, Sweden. The settlement can be reached by car (and bus, from Gällivare). It consists of a few houses and a dam operated by Vattenfall, which regulates the flow to the hydroelectric plant in Vietas located about 5 kilometers downstream. The road over the dam is normally open for hikers (not cars) and makes for a possible route into the northern parts of Sarek National Park Sarek National Park () is a national park in Jokkmokk Municipality, Lapland in northern Sweden. Stora Sjöfallet National Park
Stora Sjöfallet (, ; ) is a national park in Norrbotten County in northern Sweden, in Gällivare Municipality and Jokkmokk Municipality. The national park covers and is the third-largest in Sweden. The park is located about north of the Arctic Circle by the Norway–Sweden border, Norwegian border and surrounds the Akkajaure reservoir from the north, east and south. The area was declared a List of national parks of Sweden, national park in 1909. The national park is part of the Laponian area, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gällivare
Gällivare (; ; or ; or ; ) is a locality and the seat of Gällivare Municipality in Norrbotten County, province of Lapland, Sweden with 8,449 inhabitants in 2010. The town was founded in the 17th century. Together with nearby towns Malmberget and Koskullskulle it forms a conurbation with some 15,000 inhabitants. Gällivare is situated at the northern end of the Inlandsbanan railway line, about 60 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Gällivare is located in a major iron ore mining region. Adjacent to Gällivare (about five kilometres) is Malmberget, known as a site for iron ore extraction from deep mines by LKAB.
