Suomi-sarja Teams
The Suomi-sarja is Finland's third highest ice hockey league. Suomi-sarja has 14 teams. Suomi-sarja has been played since the 1999–2000 season. Prior to this, Finland's third league had been Division II since 1975 and before that the Provincial Series since 1947. During the 1990s the series also included an Estonian team. The series was played in two segments in the 2006–2007 season. During the 2007–2008 season there were four divisions. Teams playing in the Suomi-sarja can be relegated to the 2. Divisioona or promoted to Mestis. During the 2022–23 season, there are 13 teams. The eight best teams continue to the playoffs and the worst two teams play in the qualifiers against 2. divisioona teams. The Suomi-sarja champion and the runner-up advance to Mestis qualifiers. Lempäälän Kisa
Lempäälän Kisa (LeKi) is an ice hockey team from Lempäälä, Finland. They currently compete in the Suomi-sarja. Kotkan Titaanit
Kotkan Titaanit ("Kotka Titans") is an ice-hockey club founded in 1974 in Kotka, which at its best has played four season at Finland's second highest level. Titaanit play their home match at Kotka Ice Rink, which can hold nearly two thousand (1958) viewers. Early years The predecessor of Titaanit was Sunilan Sisu. Titaanit played the second highest level of Finland in Finland in the mid-1990s. It was then ranked 11th in the 1995–1996 season and ranked 12th in the next season. Heinolan Kiekko
Heinolan Peliitat (''formerly Heinolan Kiekko'') is an ice hockey club based in Heinola, Finland. The club is made up of 11 teams with the top team playing in the 2. Divisioona, the 4th tier of ice hockey in Finland. They play their home games in the Versowood Areena, which has a capacity of 2,975 (with 1,500 seated). The club is affiliated with the Liiga side Lahti Pelicans. History The original Peliitat was founded in 1969 and played in 1983–1987 and 1988–1989 in the I-Divisioona. The club's activities ended with relegation from the I-Divisioona and bankruptcy in 1989. After the bankruptcy of Peliitat, Heinola Kiekko, founded in 1984, became the leading ice hockey club in Heinola. HeKi played for a long time in the 2. Divisioona and got promoted in 1999 into the Suomi-sarja. Success finally came in the 2004–05 season, when HeKi finished second in the series.
