Sunpentown () is a Taiwanese appliance manufacturing company founded in Keelung, Taiwan in 1985 under the name Sunpentown Electric Company. The company specializes in manufacturing home and kitchen appliances. According to the website, the company's first domestic product was the induction cooker. It developed more kitchen-related appliances including Mr. Rice, a popular rice cooker. Keelung
Keelung ( ; zh, p=Jīlóng, c=基隆, poj=Ke-lâng), Chilung or Jilong ( ; ), officially known as Keelung City, is a major port city in northeastern Taiwan. The city is part of the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area with neighboring New Taipei City and Taipei. Nicknamed the ''Rainy Port'' for its frequent rain and maritime role, the city is Taiwan's second largest seaport (after Kaohsiung), and was the world's 7th largest port in 1984.
