Danny Kennedy (environmentalist)
Danny Kennedy (born February 24, 1971) is an American clean-technology entrepreneur, environmental activist, and the author of the book ''Rooftop Revolution: How Solar Power Can Save Our Economy—and Our Planet—from Dirty Energy'' (2012). Kennedy is managing director of the California Clean Energy Fund, a non-profit dedicated to optimizing the clean energy transition. He co-founded Sungevity, a residential solar power company, and Powerhouse, the primer solar incubator in Oakland. Off-the-grid or off-grid is a characteristic of buildings and a lifestyle designed in an independent manner without reliance on one or more public utilities. The term "off-the-grid" traditionally refers to not being connected to the electrical grid, but can also include other utilities like water, gas, and sewer systems, and can scale from residential homes to small communities.
