Sunday Marshall Katung (born 1 April 1961) is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who has served as the Senator Representing Kaduna South Senatorial District since 2023. He was a member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria representing Jaba, Nigeria, Jaba/Zangon Kataf Federal constituency of Kaduna State. Life and education Katung was born on 1 April 1961, in Madakiya, defunct Northern Region, Nigeria, Northern Region (now in Zangon Kataf Local government area, LGA of Southern Kaduna, southern Kaduna State), Nigeria. He attended Kufena College, Wusasa Zaria from 1975 to 1980; then proceeded to the College of Arts & Science, Zaria, from 1980 to 1982. He afterwards attended the University of Lagos, Akoka, from 1982 to 1986 and the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos from 1986 to 1987. The Senate is the upper chamber of Nigeria's bicameral legislature, the National Assembly of Nigeria. Victoria Island, Lagos
Victoria Island (VI) is an affluent area that encompasses a former island of the same name neighbouring Lagos Island, Ikoyi and the Lekki Peninsula by the Lagos Lagoon. It is the main business and financial centre of Lagos State, Nigeria. Victoria Island is one of the most exclusive and expensive areas to reside in Lagos. Bajju People
The Ba̠jju are an ethnic group found in the Middle Belt (Central) area of Nigeria. The word Ba̠jju is a short for "Ba̠nyet Jju" which simply means "Jju People" and is used to refer to the speakers of the Jju language found in the Ka̠jju, the homeland of the Jju people. They are found in the Southern part of Kaduna State, chiefly in Kachia, Zangon Kataf, Jama'a and in Kaduna South Local Government Areas. Ba̠jju people are also commonly known as "Kaje" which is a pejorative name used to refer to both the Jju people and Jju language by the larger Hausa people who could not pronounce the name Ka̠jju (meaning the land of the Ba̠jju people) well. Atyap People
The Atyap people ( Tyap: ''A̱tyap'', singular: ''A̱tyotyap''; Hausa exonym: ''Kataf'', ''Katab'') are an ethnic group found majorly in Zangon-Kataf, Kaura and Jema'a Local Government Areas of southern Kaduna State, Nigeria. They speak the Tyap language, one of the Central Plateau languages. 2023 Nigerian Senate Elections In Kaduna State
The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Kaduna State will be held on 25 February 2023, to elect the 3 federal Senators from Kaduna State, one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later.
