The Sun Metals Solar Farm is a photovoltaic solar power station near Townsville in the Australian state of Queensland. It supplies some of the electricity consumed by the nearby Sun Metals (a subsidiary of Korea Zinc) zinc refinery as well as exporting to the National Electricity Market. The National Electricity Market (NEM) is an arrangement in Australia's electricity sector for the connection of the electricity transmission grids of the eastern and southern Australia states and territories to create a cross-state wholesale electricity market.
