Sumy Border Detachment
The Sumy Border Detachment (9953) is a brigade level detachment of the Eastern Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine. The detachment guards the Russia-Ukraine border in three Raions (Konotop Raion, Sumy Raion and Okhtyrka Raion) of Sumy Oblast. The detachment guards a border length of 562.5 km, 464.5 km on land and 98 km on river. History It was established on 20 October 1992 and armed with GAZ-66, UAZ and LuAZ vehicles and started operations in 1993. In 2000, the Sumy border control unit became the Sumy Border Detachment following the merger of "Krasnopillya" detachment into it. In 2001, 228 illegal migrants were detained by the detachment. Shchastia
Shchastia (, , ; ) is a city, the former ''de jure'' administrative center of Shchastia Raion in the Luhansk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. Khutir-Mykhailivskyi (), between 1962–2024 known as Druzhba (, ), is a small List of cities in Ukraine, city in the Shostka Raion of the Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. The population is History In the past, two settlements, Zhuravka and Yurasivka were in Cossack Hetmanate. Zhuravka village was named after the Zhuravka River (), on which it is located. In late 17th century, these villages belonged to Andriy Hamaliya, whose son was a like-minded person and supporter of Ivan Mazepa. After the Battle of Poltava (1709) tsar Peter I gave these villages to landowner Golovin, whose descendants sold them later to the Kochubey family. GAZ-66
The GAZ-66 is a Soviet Union, Soviet and later Russian four wheel drive, 4x4 all-road (off-road) military truck produced by GAZ. It was one of the main cargo vehicles for motorized infantry of the Soviet Army and is still employed in former Soviet Union countries.
