Summitville is a town in Van Buren Township, Madison County, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Indianapolis–Carmel–Anderson metropolitan statistical area. The population was 989 at the 2020 census. History Summitville was laid out in 1867. It was named for its relatively lofty elevation. The Joseph & Lucinda Thawley House was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
