Summerland Buckaroos
The Kelowna Buckaroos were a Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. They won two league titles, a British Columbia title (the Mowat Cup), and a Doyle Cup as Alberta/BC Champions. In 1983, the Buckaroos moved to Summerland, British Columbia. Their season-to-season success dwindled in Summerland as they were replaced in Kelowna by the Kelowna Packers in 1985. The Buckaroos played their final game in 1988 after four straight losing records. British Columbia Hockey League
The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) is an independent Canadian Junior ice hockey league with 21 teams in British Columbia and Alberta. It was classified as a Junior "A" league within the Hockey Canada framework, until it became independent in 2023. Mowat Cup
The Mowat Cup was donated to the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association by John Mowat in 1927. Since 2024, it is awarded to the championship team from the British Columbia Hockey Conference (BCHC). The BCHC is made up of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) and the Pacific Junior Hockey League, Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL). Doyle Cup
The Doyle Cup was an ice hockey trophy won through a best-of-7 series conducted annually by the Canadian Junior Hockey League to determine the Pacific region berth in the Centennial Cup, the national Junior A championship. From 1971 to 2021, the series was played between the Fred Page Cup champions of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and the Enerflex Cup champions of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), except from 2013 to 2017 when it was replaced by the four-province Western Canada Cup. Its future status is uncertain because of format changes to the national championship and the BCHL's withdrawal from the CJHL after the 2020–21 season.
