''Summer Evening'' was a Canadian music variety television series which aired on CBC Television in 1976. Premise This series was produced through CBC Ottawa as a series of concert recordings from the CBC Summer Festival at Camp Fortune in Quebec. Episodes featured performances from such artists as Liam Clancy, Shirley Eikhard, Kevin Gillis, Eric and Martha Nagler, Ron Nigrini, Sneezy Waters and Robin Moir. CBC Television
CBC Television (also known as CBC TV) is a Canadian English-language broadcast television network owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the national public broadcaster. Gatineau Park
Gatineau Park (french: Parc de la Gatineau) is a federal park located in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada. Administered by the National Capital Commission as part of the National Capital Region, Gatineau Park is a wedge of land extending north and west from the city of Gatineau. CBOT-DT (channel 4) is a CBC Television station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is part of a twinstick with Ici Radio-Canada Télé station CBOFT-DT (channel 9). Both stations share studios at the CBC Ottawa Production Centre on Queen Street (across from the Confederation Line light rail station) in Downtown Ottawa, alongside the main corporate offices of the CBC; CBOT-DT's transmitter is located on the Ryan Tower at Camp Fortune in Chelsea, Quebec, north of Gatineau. Liam Clancy
Liam Clancy ( ga, Liam Mac Fhlannchadha; 2 September 1935 – 4 December 2009) was an Irish folk singer from Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary. He was the youngest member of the influential folk group the Clancy Brothers, regarded as Ireland's first pop stars. They achieved global sales of millions and appeared in sold-out concerts at such prominent venues as Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Liam was generally considered to be the group's most powerful vocalist. Bob Dylan regarded him as the greatest ballad singer ever. Eric Nagler
Eric Nagler (born June 1, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American musician and television personality known primarily for his work on Canadian children's television series such as '' The Elephant Show'' and '' Eric's World''. Biography Initially, Nagler was a folk musician in the United States, and in 1966 he marched through Mississippi with Martin Luther King Jr., encouraging people to register to vote. He married fellow musician Martha Beers in 1966. Due to their conscientious objection to the Vietnam War, the couple moved to Toronto in 1968 in order to “avoid” the draft. In 1972, Nagler returned to the United States to stand trial for draft evasion; he was acquitted. Sneezy Waters (born Peter Hodgson; March 1, 1945) is a Canadian folk musician, singer, songwriter and actor who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Hank Williams Sr. in the play and film ''Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave''. He also works as a stagehand at the National Arts Centre in his home town of Ottawa, Ontario.
