''Sumaithaangi'' () is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language drama film, written and directed by C. V. Sridhar. The film stars Gemini Ganesan, Radha and R. Muthuraman. Based on Ra. Ki. Rangarajan's novel of the same name that was serialised in '' Kumudam'', it revolves around a man who could not lead his life the way he wanted, and gets forced to undergo many sacrifices. The film, produced by Kovai Chezhiyan, was released on 7 December 1962. Devika Devadoss (born Prameela Devi; 25 April 1943 – 2 May 2002) was an Indian actress who worked in Tamil cinema, Tamil and Telugu cinema, Telugu along with a few Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. She was one of the popular lead actresses in the 1960s. Devika is the daughter of Gajapati Naidu and the grand daughter of Telugu cinema doyen and pioneer Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu. Kovai Chezhiyan
Kovai Chezhiyan was an Indian senior leader of the Dravidian movement in the Kongu Nadu region and film producer who worked in the 1950s up to late 1990s. He was also the vice-chairman of the Tamil Nadu Planning Commission when M. G. Ramachandran was the Chief Minister. He had produced films with famous stars including Ramachandran, N. T. Rama Rao, Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Sivakumar, R. Muthuraman, J. Jayalalithaa, Vijayakanth, Rajesh Khanna, Mammotty, etc. Chezhiyan, originally from Tamil Nadu, also produced Telugu and Hindi films also and was the first president of Tamil Film Producers Council. Leena Sequeira (1937 – 8 December 2023), known mononymously as Leelavathi, was an Indian actress, producer who worked predominantly in Kannada and Tamil films, in addition to few Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tulu films. Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy were an Indian music composing duo composed of M. S. Viswanathan and T. K. Ramamoorthy. They worked together on over 100 films, from 1952's '' Panam'' to 1965's '' Aayirathil Oruvan''. After their split, Ramamoorthy worked on 16 films between 1966 and 1986.
