''Sullan'' (spelt ''Sulaan'' onscreen) is a 2004 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language action film written and directed by Ramana (director), Ramana. The film stars Dhanush in the main lead role along with Sindhu Tolani, Manivannan, Pasupathy and Easwari Rao among others. It was released on 23 July 2004. Plot Subramani, known as Sullan among his friends, is the son of Mani, a corporation garbage lorry driver. A first-year college student, his only objective in life is to have fun with his friends. He falls in love with Kavya. Soori is a moneylender who charges atrocious rates and then goes after those who fail to pay him back. Ramana is an Indian film director who has directed 3 Tamil cinema, Tamil films. After making his debut in 2003 with the successful ''Thirumalai'', he has gone on to make other ventures, ''Sullan'' (2004) and ''Aathi'' (2006). Career Ramana penned a series of film scripts featuring serious off-beat stories and approached producers with little luck, hoping to land an offer. He spent several years narrating the script of a proposed film titled ''Karkaalam'' to actors and then finally agreed terms with Prakash Raj to play the lead role during 1996, but no financiers eventually backed the project. Salem Chandrasekharan
Salem Chandrasekharan (died 10 May 2021) was an Indian film producer and distributor. He produced high-budget Tamil films like '' Ghajini'' and '' Sabari'' under Sree Saravana Creations. Business Before venturing into film production, Chandrasekharan was a distributor and owner of a three-screen theatre in Salem named ARK Complex. His first production was ''Sullan'' (2004) and later was supposed to produce Vetrimaaran's debut film ''Desiya Nedunchaalai'' with Dhanush, which was later shelved. Despite the success of '' Ghajini'' (2005), his following ventures did not perform well. Owing to financial issues, he also had to pause work on the production of Karu Pazhaniappan's ''Asokamithran'', also starring Dhanush. Harini (born 30 April 1979) is an Indian film playback and classical singer born and raised in Chennai.
