Sudjiatmi
Sudjiatmi Notomihardjo (15 February 1943 – 25 March 2020) was the mother of Joko Widodo, Indonesia's current president. Along with her husband, Widjiatno Notomihardjo, she was a wood trader from Solo. Biography Sudjiatmi was born on 15 February 1943 in Boyolali, Central Java, as the second child and only daughter of Wiroredjo and Insani "Sani" Wiroredjo (1913 – 23 October 2015). Her brothers were Miyono Suryo Sarjono (1940 – 27 February 2022) and Setiawan Prasetyo (born ). Her father Wiroredjo was a wood traders from Giriroto, Ngemplak, Boyolali, and her mother Sani was a housewife. Later, she ran her wood business with her husband, Widjiatno Notomihardjo, although it was not very successful and the newly married couple struggled at the beginning of their marriage. Joko Widodo (; born 21 June 1961), popularly known as Jokowi, is an Indonesian politician and businessman who is the 7th and current president of Indonesia. Elected in July 2014, he was the first Indonesian president not to come from an elite political or military background. He was previously the mayor of Surakarta from 2005 to 2012 and the governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. Before his political career, he was an industrialist and businessman. Boyolali ( jv, ꦧꦺꦴꦪꦭꦭꦶ, Boyalali, Don't forget) is a regency ( id, kabupaten) in the eastern part of Central Java province in Indonesia. It covers an area of 1,015.10 km2, and had a population of 930,531 at the 2010 census and 1,062,713 at the 2020 census. Japanese Occupation Of The Dutch East Indies
The Empire of Japan occupied the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) during World War II from March 1942 until after the end of the war in September 1945. It was one of the most crucial and important periods in modern Indonesian history. In May 1940, Germany occupied the Netherlands, and martial law was declared in the Dutch East Indies. Following the failure of negotiations between the Dutch authorities and the Japanese, Japanese assets in the archipelago were frozen. The Dutch declared war on Japan following the 7 December 1941 Attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese invasion of the Dutch East Indies began on 10 January 1942, and the Imperial Japanese Army overran the entire colony in less than three months. The Dutch surrendered on 8 March. Islam is the largest religion in Indonesia, with 86.7% of the Indonesian population identifying themselves as Muslim in a 2018 survey.
