Sucioperro (Spanish for 'Filthy Dog'; ) are a Scottish alternative rock band from Ayr, South Ayrshire, formed in 2002. History ''Random Acts of Intimacy'' The band's debut album, '' Random Acts of Intimacy'', was released in June 2006 on the Captains of Industry record label. It features the download only single "Wolf Carnival" as well as the singles "Dialog on the 2", "The Drop" and download only "Grace And Out of Me" which includes the video for the song directed by Jamie Lenman of Reuben. ''Pain Agency'' The band's second album is called '' Pain Agency'', which was released on 4 May 2009, through Maybe Records. It was produced by the band and recorded in their own studio in Ayr, South Ayrshire and was mixed by Chris Sheldon. ''Pain Agency'' is the second album by Scottish rock band Sucioperro, released on 4 May 2009 by Maybe Records. Overview Pain Agency was recorded in the band's studio in Ayr between June and October 2007. A video entitled 'The Making of Pain Agency' was created and posted on the band'YouTube page'Dragon's Pain Agency' a diary of events between the 10 June – 12 July written by the lead singer, was made available online from 16 July 2007 and includes information about recording developments, song titles, eating habits and progress through the computer game 'Black'. PledgeMusic was an online direct-to-fan music platform, launched in August 2009. It was started to facilitate musicians looking to pre-sell, market, and distribute projects, such as recordings and concerts. The Heart String & How To Pull It
''The Heart String & How to Pull It'' is the third album by Scottish rock (music), rock band Sucioperro, released on 7 March 2011 by Xtra Mile Recordings. Overview The band financed the making of the album and completed most of the recording themselves at their beastin' studio, The Lair. The record was produced by the band, mixed by Chris Sheldon, and mastered by Chris Gordon. The artwork was once again done by bassist Stewart Chown, in collaboration with longtime Sucioperro photographer Gordon Burniston. In order to fund the publication and promotion of the album, and the March/April 2011 tour, the fan-funding intermediary Pledgemusic was used, which gave fans the opportunity to take up some special offers from the band. The Sucioperro Pledgemusic statement indicated that a percentage of profits would be donated to Alzheimer Scotland when the fundraising target was reached. ''Mums' Bad Punk Music'' is a single released by Sucioperro on 17 November 2008 through Maybe Records. Overview The release of the band's second album, Pain Agency, was thwarted by several delays which prompted the release of "Mums' Bad Punk Music". The single contains a set of the band's heavier songs and, at the time, it gave some indication of what to expect from the forthcoming second album. Around the time of the release the band embarked on a small tour, including dates in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. The title track received airplay from BBC Radio One DJ, Vic Galloway. Chris Sheldon (born 25 September 1962) is an English record producer, particularly of rock music based in London, England. He has produced or mixed records for the Foo Fighters, Garbage, Big Country, Feeder, Therapy?, Biffy Clyro, Oceansize, Pixies and Shed 7. He lives in London, is married and has two daughters. Career Sheldon was born in Pakistan when his parents were posted abroad for work and grew up in Surrey. He took his first steps in the music industry when he was a drummer in several local punk bands. In the mid-1980s he worked as engineer in productions of artists such as Dead or Alive, Prefab Sprout, Elkie Brooks and Roger Waters. Reuben (band)
Reuben were an England, English three-piece musical group from Camberley, Surrey. Their music is a fusion of alternative rock and Heavy metal music, heavy metal, as their songs cover a variety of styles, ranging from heavy and upbeat, such as their 2005 single "Blamethrower" to slower, more melodic songs such as their 2004 single "Moving to Blackwater". The former style of song often featured vocalist Jamie Lenman switching between shouting and whispering, a technique often used in heavy metal and post-hardcore music. The band performed in the United Kingdom, UK underground music scene. Although they attracted a significant fanbase, Reuben never achieved mainstream success, but did record chart, chart four songs in the UK Singles Chart. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s.
