Succinct Hash Table
In computer science, a succinct data structure is a data structure which uses an amount of space that is "close" to the information-theoretic lower bound, but (unlike other compressed representations) still allows for efficient query operations. The concept was originally introduced by Jacobson to encode bit vectors, (unlabeled) tree (data structure), trees, and planar graphs. Unlike general lossless data compression algorithms, succinct data structures retain the ability to use them in-place, without decompressing them first. A related notion is that of a compressed data structure, insofar as the size of the stored or encoded data similarly depends upon the specific content of the data itself. Minimal Perfect Hash Function
In computer science, a perfect hash function for a set is a hash function that maps distinct elements in to a set of integers, with no collisions. In mathematical terms, it is an injective function. Perfect hash functions may be used to implement a lookup table with constant worst-case access time. A perfect hash function can, as any hash function, be used to implement hash tables, with the advantage that no collision resolution has to be implemented. In addition, if the keys are not in the data and if it is known that queried keys will be valid, then the keys do not need to be stored in the lookup table, saving space. Disadvantages of perfect hash functions are that needs to be known for the construction of the perfect hash function. Non-dynamic perfect hash functions need to be re-constructed if changes. In computer programming, a null-terminated string is a character string stored as an array containing the characters and terminated with a ''null character'' (a character with an internal value of zero, called "NUL" in this article, not same as the glyph zero). In computer science, a suffix array is a sorted array of all suffixes of a string. It is a data structure used in, among others, full-text indices, data-compression algorithms, and the field of bibliometrics. Suffix Tree
In computer science, a suffix tree (also called PAT tree or, in an earlier form, position tree) is a compressed trie containing all the suffixes of the given text as their keys and positions in the text as their values. Suffix trees allow particularly fast implementations of many important string operations. The construction of such a tree for the string S takes time and space linear in the length of S.
