Successor (2024 Film)
''Successor'' () is a 2024 Chinese comedy drama film co-directed by Yan Fei and Peng Damo, starring Shen Teng and Ma Li. It follows a wealthy couple, Ma Chenggang and his wife Chunlan, who decide to conceal their true wealth and start a reverse child-rearing journey in order to train their son Ma Jiye to be a capable family successor. ''Successor'' was released on July 16, 2024. Plot Ma Chenggang, a wealthy man in Xihong City, worries that his eldest son is too spoiled to succeed him. Determined to raise a capable successor, he turns his focus to his younger son, Ma Jiye, born to his second wife, Chunlan. To prevent Jiye from indulging in a luxurious life and losing the motivation to strive, Chenggang and Chunlan take an unconventional approach. Shen Teng
Shen Teng (born 23 October 1979) is a Chinese comedian, actor and director. He is known for starring in the films '' Goodbye Mr. Loser'' (2015), '' Never Say Die'' (2017), '' Hello Mr. Billionaire'' (2018), ''Crazy Alien'' (2019), ''Pegasus'' (2019) and its sequel, '' Hi, Mom'' (2021), '' Moon Man'' (2022), '' Full River Red'' (2023), and ''Successor'' (2024). Biography Shen Teng was born in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, China in 1979. He attended the People's Liberation Army Academy of Art in 1999 and received a bachelor's degree in 2003. Ma Li (; born 28 June 1982) is a Chinese actress best known for her role in ''Goodbye Mr. Loser'' and ''Never Say Die (2017 film), Never Say Die''.
