Suburbio
''Suburb'' (Spanish: ''Suburbio'') is a 1951 Argentine drama film of the Argentine classical cinema, classical era of Argentine cinema, directed by León Klimovsky and starring Pedro López Lagar, Fanny Navarro and Zoe Ducós. The film portrays life in one of the poorer neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. León Klimovsky
León Klimovsky Dulfán (16 October 1906 – 8 April 1996) was an Argentine film director, screenwriter and producer notable for his work during the Golden Age of Argentine cinema, classical era of Argentine cinema. He was known mainly for his work in Spanish cinema during the 1960s and '70s. Early life Klimovsky was born in Buenos Aires, to History of the Jews in Ukraine, Jewish emigrant parents from the Russian Empire. His brother, Gregorio Klimovsky, was a noted mathematician and philosopher. Klimovsky originally trained to be a dentist, but his real passion was always the cinema. He pioneered the Argentine cultural movement known as film society, cineclub and financed the first Argentine movie theater to show art movies. He also founded Argentina's first film society, film club in 1929. Fanny Navarro (1 June 1920 - 18 March 1971) was an Argentine actress. José Maurer
José Maurer (; 6 May 1906 – 23 May 1968) was an Austro-Hungarian-Argentine actor. He was regarded as one of the leading actors in Yiddish theatre. Early life He was born Yoshe Maurer Neumann in the town of Boryslav, then a thriving Oil town in Galicia, Austro-Hungarian Empire. Maurer was the son of the local cobbler, and known as an amateur violinist, actor, and singer. Career When the famous Vilnius Jewish Theatre ( Vilna Troupe), under the direction of Zygmund Turkow visited Boryslav in 1922, the 16-year-old Yoshe was offered a minor role. Two weeks later, as the Theatre left, so did Yoshe, never to return to his hometown. As a member of this famous Yiddish Theatre, he toured Poland and Romania until 1927, when he immigrated to Argentina. Roberto Carlos Durán Samaniego (born June 16, 1951) is a Panamanian former professional boxer who competed from 1968 to 2001. He held world championships in four weight classes: Lightweight, welterweight, light middleweight and middleweight.
