Subiaco-Floreat Cricket Club
History Subiaco-Floreat Cricket Club is one of the sixteen cricket clubs playing in the Western Australian Grade Cricket competition. It was founded in 1977 as a result of the amalgamation of Subiaco Cricket Club and Floreat Park Cricket Club. The Subiaco Club was formed in 1907 when it was admitted to the Western Australian Cricket Association. Notable former players included former Prime Minister of Australia Bob Hawke, John Rutherford (Australian cricketer), John Rutherford and Des Hoare. Floreat Park Cricket Club was founded in 1956 and played in the WACA 2nd Grade. Notable former players from there included Australian national cricket captains, Australian captain Kim Hughes and Terry Alderman. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Floreat, Western Australia
Floreat is a residential suburb west-northwest of the central business district of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is bordered on Underwood Avenue, Selby Street, Cromarty Road and Durston Road. It is the head of the Town of Cambridge, which has its municipal offices and library in the suburb. The name of the suburb stems from the Latin word for "flourish" or "prosper", which is also the motto of the City of Perth, of which Floreat was a part when it was first built. Cameron Green
Cameron Donald Green (born 3 June 1999) is an Australian cricketer who plays for Western Australia and Perth Scorchers as an all-rounder. He made his international debut for the Australia national cricket team in December 2020. Career Green grew up in Subiaco, Perth and played for the Subiaco-Floreat Cricket Club. He started playing in the 2009–10 season in the under 13s league, when he was 10 years old. His rapid development meant he made his WACA first grade debut at the age of 16. Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Peter Stoinis (born 16 August 1989) is an Australian cricketer who plays limited overs cricket for the Australian national team. He is contracted to Western Australia and Melbourne Stars domestically, and has previously also played for Perth Scorchers and Victoria as an all rounder. Early life Stoinis is an Australian of Greek heritage, he was born in Perth, and represented Western Australia at both under-17 and under-19 level. Jason Behrendorff
Jason Paul Behrendorff (born 20 April 1990) is an Australian cricketer, currently listed with Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers in Australian domestic cricket. Although born in New South Wales, Behrendorff grew up in Canberra and played representative cricket for the Australian Capital Territory at both junior and senior levels. A left-arm fast bowler, he transferred to Western Australia for the 2009–10 season and made his debut at state level the following season, playing several matches after injuries to other fast bowlers. Nicole Elizabeth Bolton is an Australian cricketer who plays as a left-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler for Australia and Sydney Sixers. Early life and education Bolton was born in Subiaco, an inner western suburb of Perth, where she was raised and has lived most of her life. Nathan Mitchell Coulter-Nile (born 11 October 1987) is an Australian cricketer who has played at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level for the Australian national side. Graeme Porter
Graeme David Porter (born 18 March 1955) is a former Australian international cricketer. He played in two 1979 Cricket World Cup matches in England as a medium pace bowler taking three wickets at an average of 11.00. He also took 52 wickets in 32 first-class matches for Western Australia. After retiring from professional cricket, he taught mathematics at Trinity College, Perth and at Kent Street Senior High School, where he also coached their cricket scholarship team. Western Australian Grade Cricket
WA Premier Cricket in Western Australia refers to the semi-professional cricket league played at a level below the first-class Western Warriors and other state teams. The competition is administered by the Western Australian Cricket Association. It is the premier club cricket competition in Western Australia and players vying for Western Warriors and national team selection are typically chosen from Premier Cricket competition clubs. Retiring international and first-class players wishing to continue playing will generally return to their original Premier Cricket club. There are currently 16 teams in the competition.
