Subhanpura
Subhanpura is an urban area in the western side of Vadodara City, in the state of Gujarat, in India. It was a small village, which has merged with the ever growing western part of Vadodara city. Subhanpura is largely residencial with a few shopping malls and cinemas. Vadodara
Vadodara (), also known as Baroda, is the second largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat. It serves as the administrative headquarters of the Vadodara district and is situated on the banks of the Vishwamitri River, from the state capital of Gandhinagar. The railway line and National Highway 8, which connect Delhi with Mumbai, pass through Vadodara. The city is named for its abundance of the Banyan (''Vad'') tree. Vadodara is also locally referred to as the ''Sanskari Nagari'' () and ''Kala Nagari'' () of India. Gujarat Refinery
The Gujarat Refinery is an oil refinery located at Koyali, Vadodara District in Gujarat, Western India. It is the third largest refinery owned by Indian Oil Corporation after Paradip and Panipat Refinery. The refinery is currently under projected expansion to 18 million tonnes per year. History Following the conclusion of the Indo-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in February 1961, a site for the establishment of a 2 million tonnes per year oil refinery was selected on 17 April 1961. Soviet and Indian engineers signed a contract in October 1961 for the preparation of the project. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone of the refinery on 10 May 1963. Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (IPCL) was a petrochemicals company in India. At the time of its divestment to Reliance Industries Limited, its turnover for the financial year 2005-06 had crossed the US $2 billion mark. History IPCL was established on 22 March 1969, as a Government of India undertaking, with the objective of promoting the development of the petrochemical industry in India. Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, invited Shri Jayant Jyotendra Mehta (who had built the National Rayon plant at Kalyan) to head the IPCL project. Jayant J. Mehta was the founder Chairman and Managing Director of IPCL.
