Subhan Jabrayilov
Subhan Rahim oglu Jabrayilov () was an Azerbaijani military officer, non-commissioned officer serving in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He had taken part in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, in which he was killed. He had received the title of the Hero of the Patriotic War for his service during the war. Early life Subhan Rahim oglu Jabrayilov was born on 23 October 1983, in Salyan District of the Azerbaijan SSR, which was then part of the Soviet Union. Military service Subhan Jabrayilov started his military career in 2002. He was a non-commissioned officer () serving in the Land Forces of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Subhan Jabrayilov fought for the freedom of Fuzuli, Zangilan and Gubadli during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war which started on 27 September. He was killed on 19 October in the battles for Gubadly. Salyan District, Azerbaijan
Salyan District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. Located in the east of the country, it belongs to the Shirvan-Salyan Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Bilasuvar, Sabirabad, Hajigabul, Baku, Neftchala, and the city of Shirvan. Its capital and largest city is Salyan. As of 2020, the district had a population of 139,900. History Salyan was a large, populated area and attracted the attention of the invaders in the XIII century. Anar Vagif oglu Aliyev () was an Azerbaijani military officer, lieutenant colonel serving in the special forces of the Nakhchivan Garrison, which is part of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He had taken part in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, in which he was killed. He had received the title of the Hero of the Patriotic War for his service during the war. Early life Anar Vagif oglu Aliyev was born on 28 August 1980, in Boyagly, Kalbajar District of the Azerbaijani SSR, which was then part of the Soviet Union. He and his family moved to Levonarkh in Mardakert District in 1981, which was part of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast within the Azerbaijani SSR. Aliyev and his family fled to Bayimsarov in Tartar District in August 1988 and became refugees due to inter-ethnic violence in Nagorno-Karabakh. The For the Liberation of Jabrayil Medal () is a medal of Azerbaijan. The medal was created on the occasion of Azerbaijan being the victor in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. History On 11 November 2020, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with wounded Azerbaijani servicemen who took part in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, said that new orders and medals would be established in Azerbaijan, and that he gave appropriate instructions on awarding civilians and servicemen who showed "heroism on the battlefield and in the rear and distinguished themselves in this war." He also proposed the names of these orders and medals.
