MTV Leffa was a Finland, Finnish television channel broadcasting movies. It was operated by MTV3 and TV4 AB and was the Finnish equivalent of TV4's movie channel TV4 Film. Dvrc and My Fresh Pony was created 14 July 2010 – 26 February 2012. Most of the programming was shared with TV4 Film. However, most movies in Swedish language, Swedish were removed and replaced by other movies and the broadcast programming, schedule is different. History The channel was launched in November 2006 as a part of a new pay television package from MTV3. The channel, which did then known as MTV3 Leffa, was launched simultaneously with MTV3 MAX, MTV3 Fakta and Sub Juniori. The channel was initially only available to cable networks, and later from the Viasat (Nordic television service), Viasat satellite platform. The previous owner Alma Media sold Sub and its sister channels (MTV3, C More Max, MTV Ava Radio Nova and Sävelradio) to Swedish Bonnier and Proventus in 2005. Digital Terrestrial Television In Finland
Digital terrestrial television in Finland was launched on August 21, 2001. The analogue networks continued its broadcasts alongside the digital ones until September 1, 2007, when they were shut down nationwide. Before the analogue switchoff, the terrestrial network had three multiplexes: MUX A, MUX B and MUX C. MUX A contained the channels of the public broadcaster Yleisradio and MUX B was shared between the two commercial broadcasters: MTV3 and Nelonen. MUX C contained channels of various other broadcasters. After the analogue closedown, a fourth multiplex named MUX E was launched. All Yles channels are broadcast free-to-air, so are a few commercial ones including MTV3, Nelonen, Sub, Jim, Nelonen Pro 2 and Kutonen. There are also several pay channels. Viasat is a direct broadcast satellite, satellite and pay television brand, founded in Sweden in 1991. Viasat has previously been owned by Modern Times Group, Modern Times Group (MTG). The channels of both companies were broadcast from London. In 2018, Modern Times Group, MTG sourced out the television/streaming division, forming three companies: Viaplay Group (serving Nordic countries), Viasat World (international and Ukraine) and Viasat Russia (Russia and CIS). In 2020, Viaplay Group formed a joint venture with Canal Digital to form the company Allente, that offers satellite television services in the Nordic countries. MTV Max is a Finnish pay television channel owned and operated by MTV Oy. The channel started broadcasting in November 2006 and was originally dedicated to F1 coverage. History As MTV3+ In November 2002, MTV3 announced the launch of a digital-only channel named MTV3+ focusing mobile games and soap opera re-runs. They were granted a terrestrial mini-license and most of Finland's cable operators carried it. The channel got a full license in January 2004 and with its possibilities, Formula 1, ice hockey's SM-liiga, Finnish Floorball League, boxing, ski jumping, alpine skiing and some other sports broadcasts were added to the channel's programming.
