The provisional station was inaugurated on 1 October 1930 as the southern terminus of the stretch from Gullmarsplan, and the current permanent station was inaugurated on 1 October 1953. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. They are also useful within larger stations, where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be accessed from opposite sides of the same platform instead of side platforms on either side of the tracks, simplifying and speeding transfers between the two tracks. The Green Line () is the oldest of the three Stockholm Metro lines. The long line comprises a single double-tracked line north of the city centre, splitting into three branches south of the city centre. Stureby
Stureby () is a residential area in southern Stockholm, approx. 3 kilometers from Skanstull. The district at 205 hectares is bordered with Örby, Örby slott, Östberga, Årstafältet, Gamla Enskede, Svedmyra, Gubbängen and Bandhagen. There were farms in the area where Stureby is located in the year 1689 according to a map. The area started to be developed in the year 1921 by the company Fastighets AB Villahem. In 1923 the politicians in Stockholm decided to build a retirement home that was named Gammelbyn to commemorate Gustav Vasa's arrival in Stockholm 400 years earlier. The area was named Stureby after Sten Sture the Younger in 1926. In 1930 the retirement home Gammelbyn was finished and also a new tram station that was part of the tram line Örbybanan. Stureby nursing home opened in 1935. There once lived 1000 people in the retirement home and the nursing home. In 1938 a cinema named Tusse-bio opened in Stureby and was renamed to Corso in 1939. Söderort (literally "the southern place", sometimes translated to ''South Stockholm'') is the southern suburban part of the Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It is also part of the city of Stockholm. Gullmarsplan metro station is a station on the Green line (Stockholm metro), Green line of the Stockholm metro and the Tvärbanan light rail line, located by Gullmarsplan in Johanneshov, Söderort. Slussen Metro Station
Slussen is a station on the Stockholm metro and Saltsjöbanan, located at Slussen in the district of Södermalm. The metro station is served by the Red and Green lines, and originally opened in 1933 as an underground tram stop, on 1 October 1950 it became the terminal of the first metro line running south to Hökarängen, it was again rebuilt when the extension of the line north to Hötorget was opened on 24 November 1957. On 5 April 1964, the first stretch of the Red line, between T-Centralen and Fruängen, was opened. Slussen has also been the terminus for the Saltsjöbanan railway since the 1940s, however this has temporarily been moved to Henriksdal in 2016 due to the reconstruction of Slussen.
