Stone Carpenter Gossard (born July 20, 1966) is an American musician and songwriter who serves as the rhythm guitarist for the rock band Pearl Jam. Along with Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder, he is one of the founding members of the band. Gossard is also known for his work prior to Pearl Jam with the Seattle-based grunge bands Green River and Mother Love Bone. Gossard was also a member of the bands Temple of the Dog and Brad. In addition to his performing career, he has been active in the music industry as a producer and the owner of a record label and recording studio. He released his first solo album '' Bayleaf'' in 2001; his second, ''Moonlander'', followed in 2013. Gossard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Pearl Jam in 2017. ''Bayleaf'' is the first studio album by American musician Stone Gossard, best known as the guitarist for Pearl Jam. It was released on September 11, 2001, on Epic Records. ''Dry as a Bone'' is the second and final EP by the American rock band Green River. It was released in June 1987 through Sub Pop Records. Overview In June 1986, the band began production on its second EP with local producer Jack Endino at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle, Washington. Green River chose to record ''Dry As a Bone'' for Bruce Pavitt's new label, Sub Pop. However, Pavitt couldn't afford to release it until the following year, and, as had happened with ''Come On Down'', the record was delayed. ''Dry As a Bone'' was finally released through Sub Pop in June 1987, a year after it was recorded. It was the new label's first non-compilation release. Bruce Fairweather
Bruce Ian Fairweather (born December 12, 1960) is an American guitarist and bassist based in Seattle, Washington. Biography Fairweather grew up in Hawaii and moved to Montana for college where he met Jeff Ament skateboarding the brick banks at the University of Montana in September 1981. A month after they were rehearsing as Deranged Diction. In May 1983 they moved to Seattle and disbanded in 1984. In 1985, he replaced Steve Turner in the grunge band Green River, which included Mark Arm (later of Mudhoney), Alex Vincent as well as Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard, later of Pearl Jam. In 1988, shortly after the release of the band's mini album ''Rehab Doll'', Green River disbanded over band disputes. Alex Shumway (born December 14, 1965), known professionally as Alex Vincent, is an American musician, songwriter, and actor who is best known as the drummer for the rock band Green River. Along with Mark Arm, Steve Turner, and Jeff Ament, he is one of its founding members. He is also the founder, drummer, and songwriter for the band Ex's With Benefits; as well as a founder and guitar player for the band Thee Deception. Biography Vincent attended the Northwest School in Seattle, Washington with future bandmates Steve Turner and Stone Gossard (as well as future Presidents of the United States of America drummer, Jason Finn). He was the drummer for the band Spluii Numa and later pioneered the grunge scene as a founding member of Green River. Mark Arm (born Mark Thomas McLaughlin; February 21, 1962) is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist for the grunge band Mudhoney. His former group, Green River, was one of the first grunge bands, along with Malfunkshun, Soundgarden, Skin Yard, the U-Men, and others. He is also the manager of the Sub Pop warehouse and previously worked at Fantagraphics Books. Early life Arm was born February 21, 1962, at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, and was raised in Kirkland, Washington. . As a child, he was a member of Boy Scouts of America. Steven Neil Turner (born March 28, 1965) is an American guitarist known for his work with Green River and Mudhoney. Early life Turner was born in 1965 in Houston, Texas, but moved with his family to Seattle when he was two. Career His first band was called The Ducky Boys. The lineup included future Pearl Jam member Stone Gossard. The Ducky Boys split around 1983. Turner later joined Mark Arm in Mr. Epp and the Calculations, which Arm described as "The worst band in the world". Mr. Epp played their final show with Turner in 1984. Mudhoney is an American rock music, rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, on January 1, 1988, following the demise of Green River (band), Green River. Its members are singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner (guitarist), Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters. Original bassist Matt Lukin left the band in 1999, but rejoined the band in December 2000 for a tour that lasted through January 2001. Hunter Benedict Shepherd (born September 20, 1968) is an American musician best known as the bassist of rock band Soundgarden. Shepherd has won two Grammy Awards as a member of Soundgarden. Born in Okinawa, Shepherd grew up in Washington and developed an interest in music after watching Johnny Cash on TV. He played in various punk-rock bands and eventually joined Soundgarden as their bassist in 1990. Shepherd contributed to the band's musical evolution and played a significant role in songwriting.
