Studentenviertel Oberwiesenfeld
The Studentenviertel Oberwiesenfeld, also known as a student village or because of its location in the Olympic Park, sometimes called Olydorf, is a student residency in Munich. It is located on the former site of the Olympic Village of the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. After the student city Freimann, it is, with currently about 1953 residents, the second largest housing estate of the Studentenwerk München (Munich Student Union). Location The student district Oberwiesenfeld is part of the former Olympic Village, which is located in the north of Munich in district 11 Milbertshofen-Am Hart between the middle ring (Georg-Brauchle-Ring or Landshuter Allee), Moosacher Straße and Lerchenauer Straße. BMW Welt
The BMW Welt is a combined exhibition, delivery, adventure museum, and event venue located in Munich's district Am Riesenfeld, next to the Olympic Park, in the immediate vicinity of the BMW Headquarters and factory. It was built from August 2003 to summer 2007. A solar system with 800 kW of power is installed on the roof of the main building. The opening took place on 17 October 2007. The BMW Welt is the most visited tourist attraction in Bavaria. Operations BMW Welt operations are coordinated with the other local BMW facilities, the BMW Museum and BMW Headquarters. It has a showroom with the current model lineup of BMW cars and motorcycles, and the other two BMW Group brands, Mini and Rolls-Royce. Stammstrecke 1 (U-Bahn Munich)
The Stammstrecke 1 of the Munich U-Bahn is the first, of a total of three realized main routes, in the subway network of the Bavarian capital Munich. It runs mainly in north-south direction and is currently used by the two subway lines, the U3 and U6. Also, since 15 December 2013, the additional amplifier line, the U8, runs on Saturdays on the section Olympiazentrum- Scheidplatz. Between the subway stations Münchner Freiheit and Implerstraße, the lines U3 and U6 run on the same route, before, or after which they branch off and the two lines are then run each on a separate route. The mainline 1 has a total length of 41 kilometers and passes 42 subway stations. It does not run exclusively in Munich urban areas, but for a distance of about eight kilometers in the northern area of Garching. The Connollystraße is a street in the Olympic Village and student quarter of the Olympic Park Munich. Description The street was named in 1971 after James Brendan Connolly, the first Olympic champion of the modern era (1896). It leads from the Helene-Mayer-Ring to the Kusocinskidamm to Straßbergerstraße. The road is accessible on the surface for pedestrians and cyclists, underground for motorists. Access is via the Lerchenauer Straße.
