Stu Sells Tankard
The Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, also known as the Stu Sells Tankard, is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the High Park Club in Toronto, Ontario. The event is held in a triple-knock out format, but was held in a round-robin for many years. The tournament is sponsored by Stu Sells, a local real estate company, and is part of the "Stu Sells Series" or events, which includes the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard, the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, and a number of other junior and local tour events. The men's event became a World Curling Tour event in 2011, but was later discontinued after the 2019 edition. The women's event became a World Curling Tour event in 2016, but was also discontinued in 2020. Both the men's and women's events are also part of the Ontario Curling Tour. Waterloo is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of three cities in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo (formerly Waterloo County, Ontario, Waterloo County). Christopher James Gardner (born March 25, 1985, in Ottawa) is a Canadian curler who competes mainly in Ontario. Career Gardner skipped his bantam mixed team to a provincial championship in 2002, and the following year he won the provincial junior mixed title. Gardner's men's team, which he skips, has had some success on the provincial curling tour circuit. In 2009, they made their first provincial championship, finishing with a 3–6 record. He played in his second provincial championship in 2010, finishing in last with a 1–9 record. Adam Spencer (curler)
Adam Spencer, nicknamed "Crusher" (born July 11, 1972) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Career Juniors In 1992, Spencer skipped a team consisting of Greg Robinson, Jeff Robinson and Nolan Sims to a provincial junior title. This qualified the rink to represent Ontario at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. There, he led his Ontario rink to a 6-5 round robin record. This put them in a three-way tie for third place. They would go on to lose their tie breaker match against Saskatchewan's Scott Bitz. Men's After juniors, Spencer won a provincial Colts championship in 1994. Joe Frans
Joseph Mark Frans (born July 1, 1975 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Frans is most notable for being a two-time provincial champion and for being suspended from competitive curling for cocaine usage. Career Frans obtained fame as a curler in 1991, when he won the provincial school boys championship and the provincial junior mixed championship while curling in Smiths Falls, Ontario. In 1993, Frans won the provincial junior championship while playing in St. Catharines, Ontario. At the 1993 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team would finish with a 6-5 record. In 1994, while a grade 13 student at St. Catharines' Merritton High School, Frans would win a second straight provincial championship, this time with a rink from Bradford, Ontario. Wayne Middaugh
Robert Wayne Middaugh (born September 20, 1967) is a Canadian curler. Born in Brampton, Ontario, Middaugh resides in Victoria Harbour, Ontario. He is the only player to have won the Canadian Men's Curling Championship (known as the Brier) at three different positions: skip (1998), third (2012), and second (1993). He was inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 2020. He currently coaches the Anna Hasselborg rink from Sweden. Career Middaugh is a three-time world champion, once as second for Russ Howard in 1993, as a skip in 1998, and as third for Glenn Howard in 2012. Craig Savill
Craig Edward Savill (born October 25, 1978) is a Canadian curler, originally from Manotick, Ontario, Canada. He currently plays third on Team Adam Casey. He also coaches the Czech men's national team. Career Savill's father was stationed at CFB Lahr in Germany, and Savill was born there. However, Savill grew up in Ottawa. He curls out of the Ottawa Curling Club in club play. Before playing with Howard, Savill won two Canadian Junior Curling Championships and two World Junior Curling Championships (1998, 1999) as John Morris's third. In 2001 he moved to the position of second, still with John Morris. The team went to the 2002 Nokia Brier, and lost in the final to Alberta, skipped by Randy Ferbey.
