Strong (Anette Olzon Album)
''Strong'' is the second solo album by Swedish singer Anette Olzon, released on 10 September 2021 via Frontiers. According to Olzon, the album takes a heavier approach than her 2014 debut ''Shine (Anette Olzon album), Shine'', inspired by bands such as Dimmu Borgir and In Flames. Also, encouraged by her husband Johan Husgafvel (who plays bass and sings Death growl, growls on the album), she wrote lyrics expressing her views on issues such as wicked leaders and abusive bosses, which differed from the more introspective ''Shine''. The first single of the album, "Parasite", was released on 21 June 2021, together with the album's announcement. The second single, "Sick of You", came in 19 July. The title track was streamed on the day of the album's release. No tours were planned for the album due to the COVID-19 pandemic and scheduling conflicts with the musicians involved, but Olzon stated that she would like to begin creating her next album as soon as possible. Anette Ingegerd Olsson (born 21 June 1971), known by the stage name Anette Olzon, is a Swedish singer, best known as the former lead vocalist of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish from 2007 to 2012. She is also the vocalist of Swedish classic rock band Alyson Avenue, and of the Finnish heavy metal band The Dark Element. Early life Olzon was raised in a musical family and has been singing since childhood. Her mother also forced her to play the oboe for eight years. She toured with her mother's band and sang with them on some occasions. Later, she started to take part in various talent shows and received laudable recognition. Nightwish
Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, ''Angels Fall First'' (1997). ''Imaginaerum'' is the seventh studio album by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. It was released on 30 November 2011 by Scene Nation Oy and Sony Music in Finland, then on 2 December in Nuclear Blast in the rest of Europe and Roadrunner Records worldwide. According to Nightwish songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, the album is a concept album that tells the story of an old composer who is reminiscing of his youth on his deathbed. The Dark Element
The Dark Element is a Swedish symphonic metal band formed by former Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon and former Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen. History In 2016, Frontiers Records offered Jani Liimatainen to record and publish a new album. Liimatainen had then thought that he was going to work with a female vocalist, because the singers of his previous projects had been men. Frontiers soon informed him that Anette Olzon would be the one. Also included on this album are some new songs from 2004, never used before. The project was announced on 29 August 2017. The debut self-titled album was released on 10 November 2017, recorded with bassist Jonas Kuhlberg and drummer Jani Hurula (members of Cain's Offering).
