Tropidurus
''Tropidurus'' is a genus of reptiles. The genus includes many species of Neotropical ground lizards (family Tropiduridae). ''Tropidurus'' is the type genus of the family Tropiduridae. Geographic range and habitat Species in the genus ''Tropidurus'' are found on the South American mainland, especially in the Amazon Rainforest, but also in more arid regions. Common name No widely common name is used solely for species of the genus ''Tropidurus''. In their native range, they are simply called "Lagartixa" as are most similar animals. If anything, the Brazilian term ''calango'' is used to particularly refer to lizards of the genus ''Tropidurus''. Taxonomy The genus ''Tropidurus'' contains 30 described species, but new ones continue to be discovered. An additional seven species—the Galápagos lava lizards endemic to the Galápagos Islands—are sometimes placed here, too, but more commonly separated in the genus '' Microlophus'', instead. Similarly, the green thornyta ...

Strobilurus Tenacellus
''Strobilurus tenacellus'', commonly known as the pinecone cap, is a species of agaric fungus in the family Physalacriaceae. It is found in Asia and Europe, where it grows on the fallen cones of pine and spruce trees. The fruit bodies (mushrooms) are small, with convex to flat, reddish to brownish caps up to in diameter, set atop thin cylindrical stems up to long with a rooting base. A characteristic microscopic feature of the mushroom is the sharp, thin-walled cystidia found on the stipe, gills, and cap. The mushrooms, sometimes described as edible, are too small to be of culinary interest. The fungus releases compounds called strobilurins that suppress the growth and development of other fungi. Derivatives of these compounds are used as an important class of agricultural fungicides. Taxonomy The species was first described as ''Agaricus tenacellus'' by Christian Hendrik Persoon in his 1796 ''Observationes Mycologicae''. In its taxonomic history, it has been moved to the g ...
