Strid (band)
Strid is a Norwegian black metal band. The group formed in 1991 as Malfeitor, and changed their name to Battle by 1992 before eventually settling on their current name the year following. Despite Strid's small discography and limited number of recordings, it has acquired a dedicated cult following and is commonly recognized as a major pioneer within the depressive black metal scene. History After releasing two demos, "Malfeitor" in 1991 and "Pandemonium" in 1992, ''Malfeitor'' changed its name to ''Battle'' and underwent several lineup changes. In 1992, ''Battle'' recorded its demo "End of Life," which contained only one song and spanned roughly 11 minutes. Its lineup then consisted of Espen 'Storm' Andersen on bass and vocals, Lars Fredrik Bergstrøm on guitars, and Jardar on drums. Askim
Askim () is a town and a former municipality in (from January 1, 2020) Indre Østfold municipality in the county of Østfold, Norway. The administrative centre of the Askim municipality was the town of Askim. Askim was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Zweizz
Zweizz is the primary performing alias of Norwegian musician and composer Svein Egil Hatlevik (born May 27, 1977). History Hatlevik started using the Zweizz alias in 2003 after leaving the Norwegian black metal group Dødheimsgard. According to Hatlevik, Zweizz should be considered a one-man band, not a solo project. Hatlevik defines the musical style of Zweizz as a mixture of IDM, noise, electroacoustic music and black metal. Hatlevik also uses the pseudonym Zweizz in other bands which he is also a member of, such as Umoral and Pronounced "Sex". As a member of Dødheimsgard he used the aliases "Hologram" and "Magic/Logic". The first Zweizz release was the 7-inch EP '' Black Necrotic Obfuscation'', issued through Vendlus Records in 2004. Dødheimsgard (also known as DHG) is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed in 1994. Dødheimsgard originally played black metal, but 1999's ''666 International'' saw them change their style into experimental and Avant-garde metal, avant-garde/industrial metal. In 2000, they shortened their name to DHG. Their name,"Dødheimsgard" is a contraction of three words: ''Død'' which means 'death', ''heim'' which means 'home' and ''gard'' which means (at least in this context) 'realm'. Ved Buens Ende
Ved Buens Ende is a Norwegian avant-garde metal band. Their sound is diverse with quiet instrumental jazz influenced sections and aggressive black metal blast beats and vocals. Ved Buens Ende means "By the end of the bow" referring to the mythological rainbow Bifröst. History Ved Buens Ende was formed in Oslo in 1993 by the drummer Carl-Michael Eide and guitarist Vicotnik, who were then joined by bassist Skoll. Prior to this, Carl-Michael Eide had been playing in Ulver and Vicotnik in his own project Manes which eventually became Ved Buens Ende, not to be confused with other Norwegian band Manes, known as Perifa, and later, Manii. They were signed to the British label Misanthropy Records. Gorgoroth
Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band based in Bergen. It was formed in 1992 by guitarist Infernus, who is the sole original member remaining, and has released nine studio albums. Gorgoroth are a Satanism, Satanic band and have drawn controversy due to some of their concerts, which have featured impaled sheep heads and mock crucifixions. The band is named after the dead plateau of darkness in the land of Mordor from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel ''The Lord of the Rings''.
