Strengholt BV, started in 1928 as a publisher of books and magazines, is an international media and entertainment company. Core activities * leasing music rights and the national and international administration of copyrights; * the publication and distribution of (sheet) music both nationally and internationally; * the production, distribution and marketing of audio and visual recordings; * the publication of books, magazines and specials; * the development and realization of media and digital projects. In 1971 Strengholt relocated its head office from the Leidsegracht in Amsterdam to Naarden and established itself in the monumental ‘Oud-Bussem’ Hofstede. Frans Bauer (born 30 December 1973 in Roosendaal as François van Doorn) is a Dutch singer in the levenslied genre. Early life Frans Bauer was born as François van Doorn, after his mother Wies van Doorn who wasn't married to his father Chris Bauer (1944-2015) at the time. Free Record Shop was a chain of home entertainment stores selling products such as CDs, DVDs and video games, founded by Hans Breukhoven. Its first store opened on 15 October 1971 in Schiedam, Netherlands. Petrus Antonius Laurentius Kartner (11 April 1935 – 8 November 2022) was a Dutch musician, singer-songwriter and record producer who performed under the stage name Vader Abraham (''Father Abraham''). He wrote around 1600 songs. Early life and songwriting Kartner was born on 11 April 1935. He started his singing career at the age of eight, winning a local festival. He lived with his family in Amsterdam and worked in a chocolate factory. Kartner worked as a promoter and producer at a record label Dureco with Annie de Reuver, with whom he formed Duo X.
