''Street Angel'' is a 1928 American silent drama film with a Movietone soundtrack, directed by Frank Borzage, adapted by Harry H. Caldwell (titles), Katherine Hilliker (titles), Philip Klein, Marion Orth and Henry Roberts Symonds from the play ''Lady Cristilinda'' by Monckton Hoffe. As one of the early, transitional sound film releases, it did not include recorded dialogue, but used intertitles along with recorded sound effects and musical selections. ''Street Angel'' was one of three movies for which Janet Gaynor received the first Academy Award for Best Actress in 1929; the others were F. W. Murnau's '' Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans'' and Borzage's '' 7th Heaven''. ''Street Angel'' is an alternative comic book limited series by Jim Rugg and Brian Maruca. It was published in 2004 by Slave Labor Graphics, and lasted five issues. In 2016 Jim Rugg would start posting new and old street angel comics online as webcomics, both to his personal website and the Tapas syndicate. Five graphic novels and a one shot were later released by Image Comics between 2017 and 2018, two of them being re-releases of web comics. These books were printed at a larger scale than the original issues, hard cover and full color. They were collected as a single trade paperback in 2019. Plot The story takes place in Wilkesborough, the worst ghetto in Angel City. The title character is 12-year-old Jesse Sanchez (13-year-old after a bout of time travel), "a dangerous martial artist... and the world's greatest homeless skateboarder." ''Street Angel'' is the fifth studio album by American singer and songwriter Stevie Nicks. Released in 1994, the album peaked at No. 45 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart and has been certified Gold by the RIAA for shipments of over 500,000 copies. History The album was released in 1994 during a particularly unhappy time in Nicks' life and career. It was the first album she released after her much publicized departure from Fleetwood Mac and during the tail end of her seven-year-long dependency on the prescription medication Klonopin. It is the least successful record of her solo career, peaking at only No. 45 in the U.S. with first week sales of 38,000, and spent only three weeks within the top 100. However, the album has achieved Gold status there for shipping 500,000 copies. Benjamin Peter Speed (born 27 June 1979) is an Australian musician who composes scores for film, television and theatre. He performs and records as Mister Speed and was vocalist and songwriter in the Australian alternative, electronic and hip hop band The New Pollutants. Growing up in Adelaide, Speed graduated with an honours degree in Music Technology from the Elder Conservatorium of Music at Adelaide University and has a Masters Degree in Screen Composing from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Sydney. Music Early career and The New Pollutants: 2000–2005 Speed started making computer based music in 1998 and put on solo shows in Adelaide alongside Ben Frost in 2000. Paul Frederic Simon (born October 13, 1941) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and actor whose career has spanned six decades. He is one of the most acclaimed songwriters in popular music, both as a solo artist and as half of folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel with Art Garfunkel. Simon was born in Newark, New Jersey, and grew up in the borough of Queens in New York City. He began performing with his schoolfriend Art Garfunkel in 1956 when they were still in their early teens.
