Strapped (album)
''Strapped'' is the second full-length studio album by American indie rock band The Soft Pack. It was released on September 25, 2012, through Mexican Summer. Recording sessions took place at Kingsize Soundlabs, Comp-ny and Rollercoaster Recording in California. Production was handled by the Soft Pack themselves, except for the song "Bobby Brown", which was co-produced by Rob Barbato. The album debuted at number 27 on the US Heatseekers Albums chart. Critical reception ''Strapped'' was met with generally favourable reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 69, based on twenty reviews. The aggregator AnyDecentMusic? has the critical consensus of the album at a 6.8 out of 10, based on sixteen reviews. The Soft Pack
The Soft Pack was an indie rock band from San Diego, California, United States. History The band was originally named the Muslims, but changed the name due to "ignorant and racist" comments. Matt Lamkin has stated Soft Pack can describe the band as being well mannered or it can refer to a device that when worn is intended to convince others that the wearer has a penis. The band formed in San Diego but are now based in Los Angeles. Having released records through labels such as 1928 Recordings, Sweet Tooth Records, Caspian Records and I Hate Rock n' Roll, the band is currently signed to Kemado Records. The band has signed a deal with Heavenly Recordings/Cooperative Music. The band released their debut full-length album, ''The Soft Pack'', on Kemado Records on February 26, 2010. Pete Lyman is a mastering engineer, and owner of Infrasonic Mastering, an audio and vinyl mastering studio with three locations in United States. He has mastered Grammy-award winning and nominated albums for Chris Stapleton, Tanya Tucker, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson, John Prine, Weezer, Panic! At the Disco, and more. Lyman's music career began at the age of 14, playing bass in a number of bands, and sharing the stage with a variety of bands including My Bloody Valentine, The Mars Volta, and Sebadoh. The Distillers are an American punk rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1998 by Australian vocalist and guitarist Brody Dalle. Dalle co-wrote, played guitar and provided lead vocals for nearly every track on the band's three albums. After the breakup of the band in 2006, Dalle and Distillers guitarist Tony Bevilacqua went on to form Spinnerette. The Spinto Band is an American indie rock band from Wilmington, Delaware. Formed in 1996, the band comprises singer and guitarist Nick Krill, singer and bassist Thomas Hughes, drummer Jeffrey Hobson, keyboardist Sam Hughes, and guitarist Joey Hobson. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean. While weighted means generally behave in a similar fashion to arithmetic means, they do have a few counterintuitive properties, as captured for instance in Simpson's paradox. Standard Score
In statistics, the standard score or ''z''-score is the number of standard deviations by which the value of a raw score (i.e., an observed value or data point) is above or below the mean value of what is being observed or measured. Raw scores above the mean have positive standard scores, while those below the mean have negative standard scores.
