Strange World (film)
''Strange World'' is a 2022 American animated science-fiction adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film follows a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, who must set aside their differences as they embark on a journey to a mysterious subterranean land inhabited by surreal lifeforms, in order to save the miracle plant Pando, which is their society's source of energy. It stars the voices of Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu. Don Hall (filmmaker)
Donald Lee Hall (born March 8, 1969) is an American animation film director, voice actor and screenwriter who is best known for directing the films ''Winnie the Pooh (2011 film), Winnie the Pooh'' (2011), ''Big Hero 6 (film), Big Hero 6'' (2014), ''Raya and the Last Dragon'' (2021) and ''Strange World (film), Strange World'' (2022), and co-directing the film ''Moana (2016 film), Moana'' (2016) for Walt Disney Animation Studios. For his work on ''Big Hero 6'', he won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Adventure Film
The adventure film is a broad genre of film. Some early genre studies found it no different than the Western film or argued that adventure could encompass all Hollywood genres. Commonality was found among historians Brian Taves and Ian Cameron in that the genre required a setting that was both remote in time and space to the film audience and that it contained a positive hero who tries to make right in their world. Some critics such as Taves limit the genre to naturalistic settings, while Yvonne Tasker found that would limit films such as '' Raiders of the Lost Ark'' (1981) from the genre. Tasker found that most films in the genre featured narratives located within a fantasy world of exoticized setting, which are often driven by quests for characters seeking mythical objects or treasure hunting. Avalonia was a microcontinent in the Paleozoic era. Crustal fragments of this former microcontinent are terranes in parts of the eastern coast of North America: Atlantic Canada, and parts of the East Coast of the United States, East Coast of the United States. In addition, terranes derived from Avalonia also make up portions of Northwestern Europe, being found in England, Wales and parts of Ireland. A box-office bomb is a film that is unprofitable or considered highly unsuccessful during its theatrical run. Although any film for which the combined production budget, marketing, and distribution costs exceed the revenue after release has technically "bombed", the term is more frequently used for major studio releases that were highly anticipated, extensively marketed, and expensive to produce, but nevertheless failed commercially. Eric Allen Goldberg (born May 1, 1955) is an American animator, voice actor, film director, and producer known for his work at Walt Disney Animation Studios and 20th Century Animation, as well as Warner Bros. Animation. Life and career Goldberg was born and raised in Levittown, Pennsylvania, and moved to Cherry Hill, New Jersey as a child, where he attended Cherry Hill High School East.
