Bulgarian (; , ) is an Eastern South Slavic, Eastern South Slavic language spoken in Southeast Europe, primarily in Bulgaria. It is the language of the Bulgarians. Stoyan Ivanov Yordanov (; born 29 January 1944) is a Bulgarian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. At international level, Yordanov represented the Bulgaria national team on 25 occasions between 1968 and 1975, and participated at the 1970 FIFA World Cup and the 1968 Olympics, where he won a silver medal. In 2007, they were the entry for Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, finishing in fifth place with the song "Water". Stoyan Iliev Stoyanov (; 12 March 1913 – 13 March 1997) was the highest scoring Bulgarian fighter ace of the Bulgarian Air Force, Royal Bulgarian Air Force in World War II with 15 victories. Early life Stoyan Stoyanov was born 12 March 1913 in the village of Galata (now a part of the city of Varna, Bulgaria, Varna). He was one of five siblings. Five months before his birth, his father, a flag bearer of the 8th Sea-Regiment of Varna in the Balkan war, was killed in a battle against the Ottoman Army near the town of Edirne, near Istanbul. Because of his father's death, he was accepted in a school for war-orphans in Varna. He sold newspapers in the streets of Varna. Stoyan Stavrev (; born 7 December 1975) is a former Bulgarian football goalkeeper, and currently the goalkeeping coach at Fratria. Career Stavrev joined Litex Lovech in the summer of 1997. On 12 November 1997, he made his Litex debut in a 2–1 victory against Kremikovtsi in the Bulgarian Cup Second Round. Stavrev played 76 league matches in seven years for Litex's first team, as he was often the club's second-choice keeper behind Vitomir Vutov. Hilarion of Makariopolis ( ''Ilarion Makariopolski'', , born Stoyan Stoyanov Mihaylovski, ; 1812–1875) was a 19th-century Bulgarian cleric and one of the leaders of the struggle for an autonomous Bulgarian church. He was born in Elena in 1812 to a prominent Bulgarian family. Mihaylovski received a substantial schooling for the period, initially in his native town and later at the Greek school in Arbanasi. He became a monk in the Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos in 1832 and continued his education at the school of noted Greek enlightener Theophilos Kairis on the island of Andros, later studying for two years at a famous high school in Athens.
