Stouffville GO Station
Stouffville GO Station is a railway station in the GO Transit network located in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. It was the northern terminus of the Stouffville line train service until the line was extended to Lincolnville (now ) on September 2, 2008. Buses serve the station from stops on the street due to space limitations. York-Durham Heritage Railway runs historical trains between the station and Uxbridge on summer weekends. History The Toronto and Nipissing Railway was completed in 1871, connecting Stouffville and Uxbridge with Toronto. The line's northeastern terminus at Coboconk, Ontario, on Balsam Lake in the Kawarthas was completed in 1872. In 1877, a second track was built from Stouffville north to Jackson's Point on Lake Simcoe. These connections were created in large part to provide a reliable and efficient means of transporting timber harvested and milled in these regions. Coboconk, often shortened to Coby, is a community in the city of Kawartha Lakes, in the south-central portion of the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Ontario. Nineteen On The Park
Lebovic Centre for Arts & Entertainment – Nineteen on the Park is an arts and entertainment venue in Stouffville, Ontario and one of the few historic buildings remaining in the town. Civic Use Built in 1896, the two storey brick buildings features Romanesque Revival elements. Originally a market/concert hall, it was later used as a movie theatre, bowling alley and billiard hall, garage before becoming Stouffville Town Hall and remained in use until the late 1990s (relocated to 37 Sandiford Drive and now at 111 Sandiford Drive) and used by artists until the mid 2000s. Jackson's Point is a summer resort harbour located in the township of Georgina, on Lake Simcoe in Ontario, Canada. It was originally part of a naval land grant made to Captain William Bourchier (December 09, 1791-January 22, 1844) in 1819 (Bourchier was commander of the Provincial Marine's Lake Huron establishment out of Penetanguishene Naval Yard.
