''The Collection: Story Op.2'' (Hangul: 소품집 : 이야기 Op.2; RR: ''Sopunjib: Iyagi Op.2'') is the second compilation album by South Korean singer-songwriter Jonghyun, following his first compilation album '' Story Op.1''. It was released on April 24, 2017, by SM Entertainment, and was the last album to be released during Jonghyun's lifetime. Background Jonghyun's first compilation album '' Story Op.1'' was released in 2015, consisting of songs Jonghyun had written for his radio show ''Blue Night''. On April 18, 2017, SM Entertainment announced that the follow-up, ''Story Op.2'', would be released digitally on April 24, with a physical release the next day. ''Story Op.2'' contains five previously released songs. Jonghyun
Kim Jong-hyun (; April 8, 1990 – December 18, 2017), known mononymously as Jonghyun, was a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer, radio host, and author under the SM Entertainment label. He was the vocalist of the South Korean boy band Shinee for nine years, releasing twelve albums with the group in both Korean and Japanese. He also participated in SM Entertainment's project group, SM the Ballad, for the release of two EP albums. Jonghyun was also a solo artist, beginning in January 2015 with the release of his first EP album, '' Base''. Girls' Generation (), also known as SNSD, is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment. The group is composed of eight members: Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun. The Circle Chart (), previously known as the Gaon Music Chart or the Gaon Chart (), tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. Founded in 2010, it is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. History Gaon Chart was launched in February 2010 by the Korea Music Content Association, under the sponsorship of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the aim to create a domestic national chart similar to the ''Billboard'' charts of the United States and the Oricon charts of Japan.
