Stoneycroft
Stoneycroft is a district in the east of Liverpool, England and part of the Tuebrook and Stoneycroft and Old Swan wards. Description Stoneycroft is a small residential district of Liverpool located to the east of the city. Liverpool's inner ring-road, Queens Drive, runs past Stoneycroft and creates a border between the area and West Derby. Stoneycroft is also bordered by Tuebrook and Old Swan. Government Stoneycroft is part of the Tuebrook and Stoneycroft ward. Church Of St Paul, Liverpool
St Mary and St Cyril's Coptic Orthodox Church, previously known as the Church of St Paul, is a Coptic church in Stoneycroft, Liverpool, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, who also designed the Anglican Liverpool Cathedral. In 2016 the building was closed with a view to selling it to the Coptic Orthodox Church. Its Anglican benefice was united with that of St Anne, Stanley. The Coptic Orthodox Youth Society of the Liverpool Guild of Students is highly involved with the church and frequently takes part in Tasbeha and youth meetings. Old Swan
Old Swan is an eastern neighbourhood of Liverpool, Merseyside, England, bordered by Knotty Ash, Stoneycroft, Broadgreen, Fairfield, Liverpool, Fairfield and Wavertree. At the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 Census, the population was 16,461. Description Old Swan is centred on the road junction between Prescot Road, running east to west, Derby Lane (from the north) St Oswald Street (from the south) and Broadgreen Road (from the south-east). It is named after a public house called the Three Swans, which served the pack-horse route along Prescot Lane (now Prescot Road) in the 18th century. The name was derived from the coat of arms of local landowners, the Walton family. The inn stood at the corner of Prescot Lane and Pettycoat Lane (now Broadgreen Road). Tuebrook
Tuebrook (or Tue Brook; locally ) is an area in the north-east of Liverpool, England. At the 2001 census the population was 14,490. Toponymy The origin of the name may be Tew Brook, a tributary of the Alt. The brook itself is now almost entirely piped or culverted, with the last exposed section at the back of a disused cinema. Description Tuebrook includes Newsham Park, the Victorian, Grade I listed building St John's Church, Tuebrook Market and Tuebrook Police Station, which is now closed to the public although still in use by Merseyside Police. It is part of the Parliamentary Constituency of Liverpool West Derby. A unique characteristic of the main shopping street is that all shops are on one side of the street only. A5058 Road
The A5058 road, known as Queens Drive for much of its length, is a major ring road in Liverpool. The eastern section of the A5058 connects Breeze Hill in Bootle at the intersection with the A59, with Aigburth Vale in Aigburth at the other end. The road has been described as being the first ring road to be built in the country and was designed around the idea that future growth would require a substantial road, despite no development reaching the area around the road until many years later.
