Stonepeak (also known as Stonepeak Partners and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners) is an American investment firm headquartered in New York City. The firm focuses on investments in infrastructure and more recently real estate. The firm has additional offices in Hong Kong, Houston, London, Sydney and Singapore. In 2022, the firm was ranked by Infrastructure Investor (under ''Private Equity International'') as the sixth largest infrastructure investment firm based on total fundraising over the most recent five-year period. Background In 2008, Michael Dorrell and Trent Vichie joined Blackstone Inc. from the Macquarie Group to establish its infrastructure investment unit. In 2011, the unit was spun off as an independent firm named Stonepeak which was based in New York. Astound Broadband
Astound Broadband is an American telecommunications holding company based in Princeton, New Jersey. It was formed on January 24, 2018, with the completion of the $2.36 billion purchase of Kirkland-based Wave Broadband by private-equity firm TPG Capital. TPG combined Wave with its existing combination of Princeton-based RCN Corporation and San Marcos-based Grande Communications, both of which were acquired on February 1, 2017, in a $2.25 billion deal; TPG bought RCN for $1.6 billion and Grande for $650 million. While TPG held the Internet providers as an unnamed collective unit, they somewhat maintained independence from each other despite sharing resources. TPG then expanded the unit with its purchase of Houston-based enTouch Systems on September 18, 2020, for an undisclosed sum. Cosmopolitan Of Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas (commonly referred to simply as The Cosmopolitan or The Cosmo) is a resort casino and hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by The Blackstone Group, Stonepeak Partners, and Cherng Family Trust and operated by MGM Resorts International. The resort includes a casino and 3,033 rooms across two towers, as well as a 3,200-seat performance theater and various restaurants. The project was announced in 2004, by a joint venture that included real estate developer Ian Bruce Eichner. Construction on the hotel towers began in April 2007, following excavation work for an underground parking garage. Deutsche Bank helped finance the project, and eventually took over ownership in September 2008, after the original developers defaulted on a loan.
