Stone Dominoes Football Club is a football club based in Stone, Staffordshire. They play at Wellbeing Park. History The club was established in 1987 and joined the Midland League Division Two in 1995. They reached the 5th round of the FA Vase in 2003–04 season. They joined the North West Counties League in 2000, but resigned at the end of the 2012–13 season. Their home ground is Wellbeing Park (Formerly Springbank Stadium). In 2008 they signed comedy actor Ralf Little as one of their players. The club has 22 teams with players (boys and girls) from age 4 to adult representing the club. The men's senior team returned to competition in 2015, competing in the Staffordshire County Senior League, First Division, 2015-16 season. Stone Dominoes Ladies won the Staffordshire County Women's League in 2014-15 season and now play in the West Midland Regional Division One North. Stone, Staffordshire
Stone is a canal town and civil parish in Staffordshire, England, north of Stafford, south of Stoke-on-Trent and north of Rugeley. It was an urban district council and a rural district council before becoming part of the Borough of Stafford in 1974. Population Stone is a growing town, according to the national census. Stone recorded a population of 12,305 in 1991, 14,555 in 2001, and 16,385 in 2011. Etymology The place-name's meaning is exactly what is stated, a "stone, rock", from the Old English '' stān'' (stone). The local story is that the town was named after the pile of stones taken from the River Trent raised on the graves of the two princes, Ruffin and Wulfad, killed in AD 665 by their father, King Wulfhere of Mercia, because of their conversion to Christianity. Staffordshire County Senior League
The Staffordshire County Senior League is a football competition based in Staffordshire, England. It was formed in 2005 as a merger of the Midland League (formerly known as the Staffordshire Senior League) and the Staffordshire County League. The former Midland League clubs formed the new Premier Division, which is a feeder to the North West Counties Football League and sits at step 7 (or level 11) of the National League System. The former Staffordshire County League sides formed Division One and Division Two, which are at levels 12 and 13 of the English football league system. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Ralf Alastair John Little (born 8 February 1980) is an English actor, writer, presenter, narrator and former semi-professional footballer, working mainly in television comedy. North West Counties Football League
The North West Counties Football League is a football league in the North West of England. Since 2019–20, the league has covered the Isle of Man, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria, northern Staffordshire, northern Shropshire, the far west of West Yorkshire, and the High Peak area of Derbyshire.
