Stolen Transmission
Stolen Transmission was an American independent record label founded in 2005 by Sarah Lewitinn and Rob Stevenson. They have released albums from well-known artists such as Innerpartysystem, Monty Are I, and Schoolyard Heroes. History The label started in 2005 by former Spin editor, Sarah Lewitinn, who quit the magazine to create the label, and Rob Stevenson, a music executive for Island Def Jam. It began as an imprint of Island Def Jam. It lasted 2 years without any major commercial or critical success. In late 2007, Stolen Transmission parted ways with Island Def Jam due to the reconstruction of it, and Stolen Transmission ran completely independent for a few months. The label is defunct since 2008. Sarah Lewitinn
Sarah Lewitinn (born February 3, 1980), also known by her nickname Ultragrrrl, is an American record producer, music critic, DJ, blogger, and music director for the Canadian fashion brand, Aritzia. She began her career as an assistant editor at ''Spin Magazine'', and soon helped champion rock bands like My Chemical Romance and The Killers, which led to her starting her own record label, Stolen Transmission. In 2006, ''New York'' magazine named Lewitinn as one of the most "influential people in music", citing that "Like it or not, she has more power than any print music critic.". Saints And Lovers
Saints and Lovers is a three-piece American rock band from New York City. The band started as a duo consisting of Dennis Cahlo, formerly of The Realistics, and the American band V's guitarist Scott Meola. After a residency at Pianos in New York, drummer Doug Meola joined the band before its debut at Mercury Lounge. Originally called The Sons of Sound, the band changed its name to Saints and Lovers in October, 2004. The Oohlas
The Oohlas are an American rock band from Los Angeles, California formed in 2004. History The Oohlas consist of Olivia Stone (vocals/guitar), Mark Eklund (bass/vocals), Australian, Hayden Scott (drums) and Greg Eklund (vocals/guitar). Stone moved to Los Angeles from Phoenix and met Mark, who was working for Stone's aunt. Mark introduced her to his brother Greg, who had recently left Everclear. Wasting little time, they practiced in Greg's studio and were playing in the Los Angeles area. The Horrors are an English rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea in 2005, consisting of lead vocalist Faris Badwan, guitarist Joshua Hayward, keyboardist and synthesizer player Tom Furse, bassist Rhys Webb, and drummer and percussionist Joe Spurgeon.
