Stiftung Marktwirtschaft
The Stiftung Marktwirtschaft (Market Economy Foundation) is a liberal German economic think tank which counts several leading liberal German economists as members and contributors. History and organization The foundation belongs to the Stockholm Network. The scientific advisory committee associated with the think tank is known under the name “Kronberger Kreis.” Since 1998, the foundation has awarded Wolfram Engels Prize ("Wolfram-Engels-Preis"). The foundation was founded in 1982 under the name “Frankfurter Institut.” Since 2001, it has been based in Berlin, Germany. According to its statements, the foundation does not receive state funding and is financed through the sale of its publications, donations, and membership fees. Berlin ( ; ) is the capital and largest city of Germany, by both area and population. Joachim-Friedrich Martin Josef Merz (; ; born 11November 1955) is a German politician serving as Chancellor of Germany since 6 May 2025. Gerhard Schick
Gerhard Schick (born 18 April 1972) is a German economist and finance expert who heads Finance Watch Deutschland. He previously served as a member of the German Bundestag for the Green Party. Education and early career After completing his secondary school education in 1991 at the Gymnasium Hechingen, Schick completed his Community Service and graduated in 1992. Between 1992 and 1998 Schick continued with his economics education at the University of Bamberg, University of Freiburg and Complutense University of Madrid where he was awarded his Diplom in Economics. Hermann Otto Solms (born Hermann Otto Prince zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich; 24 November 1940) is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP). Jonathan Swift
Jonathan Swift (30 November 1667 – 19 October 1745) was an Anglo-Irish writer, essayist, satirist, and Anglican cleric. In 1713, he became the Dean (Christianity), dean of St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, and was given the sobriquet "Dean Swift". His trademark deadpan and ironic style of writing, particularly in works such as ''A Modest Proposal'' (1729), has led to such satire being subsequently termed as "Swiftian". Martin Suter
Martin Suter (born 29 February 1948 in Zürich) is a Swiss author. He became known for his weekly column ''Business Class'' in the Weltwoche newspaper (1992–2004), now appearing in the Tages-Anzeiger, and another column appearing in " NZZ Folio". The columns have been published as nine books. Suter has published fourteen novels, written four stage plays, and seven screenplays, for which he received various awards.
