Sticks And Stones (Cher Lloyd Album)
''Sticks and Stones'' (stylized as ''Sticks + Stones'' for its European release and ''Sticks & Stones'' for its North American and Australian release) is the debut studio album by English singer and rapper Cher Lloyd. It was released on 4 November 2011, through Syco Records. Lloyd co-wrote five songs and worked with various producers and songwriters for her first full-length release, including The Runners (production duo), The Runners, Kevin Rudolf, and Savan Kotecha, among others. Lloyd herself called the album a "jukebox." The album was released on 2 October 2012 in the United States through Epic Records. ''Sticks + Stones'' debuted at number four in the United Kingdom, selling 55,668 copies in its first week, and at number nine in the United States, selling around 33,000 copies. The album received mixed reviews from music critics. The album was preceded by the lead single, "Swagger Jagger", which was released on 29 July 2011. Cher Lloyd
Cher Lloyd (born 28 July 1993) is an English singer. She participated on the The X Factor (UK series 7), seventh series of the television talent show ''The X Factor (UK TV series), The X Factor'' in 2010, where she finished in fourth place. Following the show, Lloyd was signed to Syco Music in the United Kingdom and Epic Records in the United States. Shakespears Sister
Shakespears Sister are an alternative rock, alternative Pop rock, pop and rock musical duo that was formed in 1988 by Irish people, Irish singer-songwriter Siobhan Fahey, a former member of Bananarama. Shakespears Sister was initially a solo act but became a duo by 1989, with the addition of Americans, American musician Marcella Detroit. Together they released two top-ten albums and a string of top-forty hits, including the 1992 single "Stay (Shakespears Sister song), Stay", which remained at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for eight weeks. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. Syco Records
Syco Music, originally S Records, was a division of Syco Entertainment which operated from 2002 until 2020. The label was founded by British entrepreneur, record executive and media personality Simon Cowell, who was formerly employed at Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG).
