Steven W. Cappelli
Steven W. Cappelli (born November 8, 1963) is a former Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 83, 83rd District for four terms from 2001 to 2009. He and his wife live in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He did not run for reelection to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives elections, 2008, Pennsylvania House in 2008, choosing to instead run for the Republican party nomination for State Senator in the 23rd District. Cappelli lost the primary to Eugene Yaw, who was elected to the State Senate in the November 2008 General Election. Cappelli was succeeded in the Pennsylvania House by Democrat Richard Mirabito. Towanda is a borough in, and the county seat of, Bradford County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania and is located northwest of Wilkes-Barre, on the Susquehanna River. The name means "burial ground" in the Algonquian language. As of the 2020 census, the population of Towanda was 2,833. History Towanda was settled in 1784 and became the county seat in 1812. It was variously known for some years as Meansville, Overton, Williamson, Monmouth, and Towanda, and incorporated in 1828. E. Eugene Yaw (born February 26, 1943) is an American politician from Pennsylvania currently serving as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 23rd district since 2009. Early life and education Yaw was born to Emerson A. and Harriet Yaw. He graduated from Montoursville High School and attended Bucknell University from 1961 to 1963. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968 and graduated from the United States Army Field Artillery School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged as first lieutenant after an overseas tour of duty as an artillery officer.
