Steven Sainz
Steven Sainz (born July 13, 1994) is a Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives. He represents Georgia's District 180 and has been in office since January 14, 2019. Before his election, Sainz was the Executive Director of Camden Family Connection, a Georgian nonprofit organization. Sainz was twenty-three years old when he launched his campaign. He ran unopposed in the 2018 general election after defeating incumbent candidate Jason Spencer in the Republican primary. Spencer was facing criticism at the time for proposing a bill that would ban face coverings such as hijabs, as well as for making controversial comments on the television series ''Who is America?''. Sainz was subsequently re-elected to his position in 2020 and 2022. He is of Cuban and Costa Rican descent. Jason Spencer
Jason Chauncey Spencer (born November 14, 1974) is an American physician assistant and Republican politician. Spencer was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2010, representing district 180, and serving into July 2018. He was defeated by Steven Sainz in the May 2018 Republican primary for Georgia House of Representatives District 180. He strongly opposed the Affordable Care Act and helped prevent Medicaid expansion in Georgia. Spencer faced widespread criticism in July 2018 for his behavior during an episode of the satirical television show '' Who Is America?'' in which British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, disguised as an Israeli counter-terrorist expert, led Spencer to drop his pants and shout multiple racial slurs. Jasmine Michelle Clark (born December 26, 1982) is an American scientist and politician. Clark has a PhD in microbiology from Emory University. She is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from the 108th District, serving since January 14, 2019. Clark serves as a Co-Chair for the Georgia chapter of Future Caucus alongside Steven Sainz. In May 2020, Clark received media attention after accusing public health officials in Georgia of "malfeasance" in how they reported COVID-19 statistics from the state. Republican Governor Brian Kemp's office denied there was any attempt to deceive the public.
