Steven George (born 5 June 1982) is an Australian Paralympic tandem cycling pilot, who piloted Bryce Lindores at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. He won a bronze medal at the games in the Men's Individual Pursuit B VI 1–3 event, with the pair beating their personal best time by six seconds. Tandem Bicycle
A tandem bicycle or twin is a bicycle (occasionally a tricycle) designed to be ridden by more than one person. The term tandem refers to the seating arrangement (fore to aft, not side by side), not the number of riders. Patents related to tandem bicycles date from the mid-1880s. Tandems can reach higher speeds than the same riders on single bicycles, and tandem bicycle racing exists. As with bicycles for single riders, there are many variations that have been developed over the years. Terminology The term tandem refers to the seating arrangement (fore to aft, not side by side), not the number of riders. A bike with two riders side by side is called a sociable. Bryce Lindores
Bryce Lindores (born 12 September 1986) is an Australian Paralympic tandem cyclist. Personal Lindores was born on the Gold Coast and attended Somerset College. He played rugby, tennis and touch football when he was young. He became blind six days before his eighteenth birthday due to an accident in which a towing rope snapped while he was towing a car with his ute. He lives in the Gold Coast suburb of Mermaid Beach in the subdivision of Nobby beach. In 2009, he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. Career Lindores began cycling in 2006, two years after the accident that took his sight. Six months later, he won a bronze medal riding with pilot Steve Storer at the 2006 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Aigle, Switzerland and was awarded the 2006 Queensland Tandem Cyclist of the Year. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; ) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement.
